Ahvantsoul f/ Kat Webb are the new messengers of this musical vision,institution,innovating and inspiring,  “While I was touring with Motown’s Jr. Walkers All Star Band as their lead singer, performing the classics hits of Jr. Walker who passed in 1995. I had the idea for AhVantSoul.A group uniquely talented from the past, before (Ahvant) that would unite our (Soul)  musically.”

Jon Pierre Gee

Jon Pierre Gee a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native ( born John L. Gee, 14 May Leflore County Greenwood, Mississippi) works professionally as an American gospel, R&B, soul, funk, jazz ,blues, rock and pop singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He is commonly known for his unmatched vocal abilities, stage energy, impact and influences in the modern world of music. He was initially a lead singer and drummer in the Sanctified/Pentecostal church, then joining the popular local Milwaukee 14 piece horn Band the “Fabulous” Chefs, appearing as the lead vocalists and showman with top local Soul Bands thru-out the 60’s-70’s and winning many local/regional talent contests’. His dynamic, Charismatic performances and style of Dress was pioneering in the days when Soul music ruled, it led to his working with such artists then on the rise as James Brown, Al Green, Ike and Tina Turner, The Temptations, Moms Mabley, Pigmeat Markum, B.B. King, Harvey Scales & The Seven Sounds, The Unifics, Joe Simon, and Miles Davis, reggae legends Bob Marley, Toots and The Maytels in Jamaica 1969, and Jerry Butler., his career expanded when he worked with local Milwaukee native Harvey Scales ( Co-Writer of the million selling Johnny Taylor Classic Disco Lady) in 1976. When he decided the move to California he really had a desire of getting a chance to maybe audition for the his all-time favorite Oakland Based Soul band Tower Of Power, he got as close as meeting the leader Emilio Castillo. But join another touring Oakland band. His first release was the single “Not Enough Love Makin” in 1982 on the Oakland Ca. Pashlo record label . He later had a local hit in 1986 with “So Good to Me” released on Kandi International Inc. an entertainment company that he co- founded, that released his first CD 1995 “The Time is Now” Jon Pierre Gee and Touch, and female Hip Hop/Rap artists Wikkedness “Playa’s Ball” “Introducing Lady El’ouise” A Marvin Gaye Remake “Inner City Blues” The Gee Street Band and in 2005 AhVantSoul featuring Jon Pierre Gee & Kat Webb’s “Musical Exodus”. Jon became the lead vocalist with Motown’s “Jr. Walker’s All-Star Band” (Shotgun, What does it take, Shake and Fingerpop), after the death of Jr. in 1995. Gee is also among the modern black performers and composers to attend to mentoring young talent in the business side of performing arts and music careers. After he co-founded Kandi International Inc. in 1986, a Music & performing arts school followed 1995 “The Milwaukee Academy of Music and Performing Arts, Inc” (MAMPA) and a publishing company as an extension of his career as a singer and songwriter. He is also notable as having a family history in music his mother Elizabeth Mayfield-Gee Gospel singer, Percy Mayfield “Poet of the Blues” and Bessie Smith “Empress Of the Blues” He was one of the few early “cultural” entrepreneurs of the 60’s,70’s music era that teaches, produces, sings, writes, performs and seamlessly integrates music from many different American musical genres and cultural performing arts including Reggae, Latin, Middle Eastern.

Kat Webb

Kat Webb is a music entrepreneur (V.P. Kandi Int’l Inc.), and formerly a professional vocalist with Motown’s Junior Walker’s All-Star Band, she sings today with the group AhvantSoul, a prolific songwriter, recording artist, marketing and communication expert. Kat’s career has spanned many roads, over 30 years of tailoring, make-up/wardrobe and design experience for national and regional Ad agencies, television, print and film industry to Corp account auditing. This woman was multi-tasking before it became the norm. Kat Webb’s (aka Kathryn Hannemann) love affair with the stage began in Marathon Country Edgar & Wausau, Wi singing with the Jubilation Singers, and the Jazz group Chazz and as Marathon Country 1981 Dairy Princess, music & dance became a integral part of her life through hearing the music of Aretha Franklin, Sly and the Family Stone, AC DC, Linda Ronstadt, 70’s Soul and Rock music to Gladys Knight, Nancy Wilson and Ella Fitzgerald and performing locally in plays and state festivals.

Today Kat sings Jazz, R&B, Country, Classic Soul, Rock, and Pop Standards and has headlined/performed with such artists as The Four Tops, The Contours, Freda Payne, Martha Reeves, Tom Jones, The Temptations, Average White Band, George Benson, Jon Pierre Gee & Touch, Gee Street Band, She was executive producer of the Milwaukee’s #1 regionally selling acclaimed 1996 CD “The Time Is Now” by Jon Pierre Gee & Touch and the more recent release AhvantSoul f/ Jon Pierre Gee & Kat Webb “Musical Exodus” her original song “ The Man you Are” from the same CD released on the Kandi Music Label on sale now is a stand out performance at AhVantSoul gigs
